How Long This Magic Light
Love how this poem captures the simple magic of light. Something so basic that affects EVERYTHING in our lives.

The first several pieces of music I did for this album were like this one: Telecaster and essentially ‘through composed’... setting the poem like it was an opera aria or a jazz song. After doing a few like that, it felt like
A) it was unnecessarily hard work, and
B) the album would be too samey if every ‘song’ was done that way.

By ‘unnecessarily hard work’, i mean I was going to a place that was very detailed and responding almost word by word... and that that was not required to create a musical setting for the texts.
